1060 aluminum is weldable using TIG or MIG processes with a 1100 or 4043 filler rod. Because of its high purity and soft temper, it flows well during welding. Avoid using it in applications where the weld joint will experience high cyclic stress, as pure aluminum alloys have lower fatigue strength than structural grades like 6061.
