Match the fitting size to the nominal outer diameter (OD) of your existing pipe. Measure the outside of the pipe with calipers or a tape measure and select the closest size from our range: 20, 25, 32, 40, 50, 63, 75, 90, or 110 mm. If you're unsure, check the markings printed on your existing pipe — the nominal size is usually stamped on the side.

Use a standard PVC solvent cement (also called PVC glue or solvent weld adhesive) rated for your application — pressure, DWV, or irrigation. Apply primer first if required by local plumbing code. Follow the cement manufacturer's cure time before pressurizing the line. Do not use rubber-based or silicone adhesives, as they will not create a structural bond with PVC.

Yes. Rigid PVC is widely used in buried drainage and irrigation applications. Ensure the trench is free of sharp rocks that could stress the fitting, and use a properly cured solvent-weld joint before backfilling. For pressure-rated underground lines, confirm the fitting's pressure rating matches your system requirements (contact us to confirm spec for your chosen size).

Standard rigid PVC is generally rated for cold water and ambient-temperature drainage only. It is not recommended for continuous hot water supply lines (above approximately 60°C / 140°F). For hot water applications, consider CPVC or other heat-rated fittings. These elbows are well-suited for cold water supply, drainage, irrigation, and conduit use.

The color difference is primarily for visual identification and system organization. All three colors are made from the same rigid PVC material with equivalent structural properties. Common conventions: White for general plumbing/DWV, Blue for cold water or irrigation, Gray for conduit or drainage — but you can use any color for any compatible application. Color-coding is especially useful in multi-line installations where quick identification matters.

A properly made solvent-weld joint is chemically fused — the cement partially dissolves both surfaces and they bond into a single continuous piece of PVC. When cured correctly, the joint is typically as strong as or stronger than the pipe wall itself. Ensure the pipe end is cut square, deburred, cleaned with primer (where required), and that the cement is applied evenly to both the pipe and socket before assembly. Allow full cure time before pressurizing.
