Measure the distance across the flat faces of your nut (the A/F or "across flats" dimension) using a caliper or ruler. Match that measurement to the lower value in the variant range — for example, if your nut measures 10 mm A/F, select the 10–12 mm variant. Each wrench covers two adjacent sizes, so one end fits the smaller and the other fits the larger dimension listed.

A double-end wrench has a functional jaw opening at both ends of the handle rather than just one. On this spanner, both ends are open-end jaws sized to two adjacent metric nut dimensions. Chrome-vanadium (CrV) alloy steel is the standard material used in professional-grade hand tools. However, open-end wrenches require enough clearance to swing the handle through an arc to advance the fastener. For very restricted swing angles, a ratcheting wrench or box-end wrench may be more practical. The slim jaw profile of this spanner does help in moderately tight locations.
