For typical 1/2" to 1" residential water supply pipe, the 8" (38–40mm opening) or 10" (45–55mm opening) variants are usually sufficient. For larger drain or waste pipe up to 2", consider the 12" or 14" options. Check the jaw opening listed in each variant against your pipe's outer diameter before ordering.

The serrated jaw teeth are designed for firm grip and will leave marks on soft materials like copper.
