For a basic ON/OFF/ON circuit, a 3-pin SPDT switch is typically sufficient — one common terminal and two output terminals. If you need to control two independent circuits at the same time (for example, reversing a DC motor), choose a 6-pin DPDT variant. The "positions" option (2 or 3) refers to the number of stable switching positions — select 3 for ON/OFF/ON operation, or 2 for a simple ON/OFF toggle.

This is a standard miniature toggle switch without a factory-fitted waterproof boot.
