However, metric hardware is widely available at US home improvement stores, and metric-to-inch adapters exist if needed. Standard metric nuts, washers, and carabiners will thread directly onto these bolts.

These hook eye bolt expansion anchors are designed for solid concrete, poured concrete ceilings, solid brick, and dense masonry. They are generally not suitable for hollow concrete block (CMU), drywall, plaster, or soft stone without additional reinforcement. You will typically need: a hammer drill with a matching metric masonry/carbide-tipped bit (6, 8, 10, or 12 mm), a vacuum or blow pump to clear dust from the hole, a hammer to seat the anchor sleeve, and a wrench or pliers to tighten the hook bolt until the sleeve expands and locks. Always wear safety glasses when drilling into concrete or masonry.

The anchor is generally considered set when the hook bolt can no longer be turned freely and you feel firm resistance — the expansion sleeve has spread against the hole walls. Do not overtighten, as this can crack the surrounding masonry. For critical applications, a torque wrench set to the manufacturer's recommended torque value is advisable. If in doubt, perform a manual pull test before applying full load.
