When in doubt, size up — a slightly longer belt is easier to tension than one that's too short. You can also check your existing belt for a size code on the inner surface (e.g., 300-5M-15 = 300mm perimeter, 5mm pitch, 15mm wide).

'5M' refers to the pitch — the distance between the centers of adjacent teeth, which is 5mm. HTD (High Torque Drive) is the tooth profile standard, featuring a rounded, curvilinear tooth shape that distributes load more evenly than trapezoidal profiles, generally resulting in quieter operation and reduced tooth wear under load.

Wider belts carry higher torque loads. For light-duty applications like 3D printers and small CNC routers, 10–15mm widths are typically sufficient. For robotics joints, conveyor systems, or higher-torque servo drives, 20–25mm or wider is generally recommended. Always match the belt width to your pulley's flange width — a belt wider than the pulley flange will ride off-track under load.

Yes. These belts follow the HTD 5M tooth profile standard (5mm pitch, rounded tooth form) and are compatible with any HTD 5M pulley of the matching width. They are not interchangeable with GT2, MXL, T5, or trapezoidal-tooth pulleys — the tooth geometry is different and mixing profiles will cause skipping or accelerated wear. Always verify the tooth profile before ordering.

These belts are made from neoprene rubber with fiberglass cord reinforcement, which generally offers moderate resistance to moisture, oil mist, and mild temperature variation — typical of enclosed workshop or machine enclosure conditions. Measure the distance across 10 consecutive teeth on your old belt — if it equals approximately 50mm, the pitch is 5mm. Then check the tooth shape: HTD teeth are rounded (curvilinear), not flat-topped or trapezoidal.
