For a 180mm circumference bundle, a 123mm (≈4.8") flat width would generally be too tight; a 150mm (≈5.9") or 160mm (≈6.3") flat width is typically a better starting point. When in doubt, size up — you can always apply more heat to get a tighter fit, but you cannot stretch tubing that is already too small.

This tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio, meaning it will generally shrink to approximately half its original flat width when fully heated. For example, a 200mm flat width piece will typically recover to around 100mm flat width (≈100mm diameter) after shrinking. Actual recovered dimensions may vary slightly depending on the color, wall thickness variant, and the heat application method used.

Avoid open flames, as they can cause uneven shrinking and may damage the tubing.

Cut the tubing slightly longer than your target coverage area to account for any longitudinal shrinkage that may occur during the heat application process — PVC tubing typically shrinks a small amount in length as well as diameter when heated.
