Hand torque depends on knob diameter, thread size, and individual grip strength. As a conservative estimate, a 25 mm knob on an M6 thread typically allows approximately 1–3 N·m of hand torque, which is sufficient for securing access panels and non-structural covers. For applications requiring precise or higher torque values, use a torque-limiting tool or select a larger knob diameter. Do not use a wrench or pliers on the plastic knob as this may crack the over-moulding.
