A ball point tip allows the wrench to engage a hex socket at an angle — typically up to approximately 25° off-axis. This is useful when you cannot align the tool perfectly straight with the fastener due to surrounding components or tight clearances. A standard flat tip requires near-perfect alignment but can handle higher torque loads, so use the flat end for final tightening and the ball end for positioning and run-down.

The wrenches are manufactured from hardened alloy steel, which provides good resistance to twisting and rounding under load. The T-bar handle design also allows more controlled torque input than a short L-key. That said, for safety-critical or very high-torque fasteners (such as structural bolts), always verify the torque specification for your application and use a calibrated torque wrench for final tightening.

The wrenches are made from hardened alloy steel. For occasional outdoor use or exposure to light moisture, wiping the tool dry after use and applying a light machine oil will help maintain the surface. For prolonged exposure to salt spray, chemicals, or high humidity, consider stainless steel hex keys instead, as standard alloy steel can develop surface rust over time without protective maintenance.

These T-handle hex keys are compatible with any metric internal hex (Allen) fastener, including socket head cap screws (DIN 912), flat head socket screws (DIN 7991), button head screws (DIN 7380), set screws / grub screws (DIN 913, 914, 916), and hex socket shoulder bolts. They are designed for metric fasteners in the M2–M10 size range corresponding to the 2–10 mm hex sizes offered.

The hex key size refers to the across-flats measurement of the hex socket in your fastener — not the bolt diameter. As a general guide: M3 screws typically use a 2.5 mm hex key, M4 screws use 3 mm, M5 screws use 4 mm, M6 screws use 5 mm, M8 screws use 6 mm, and M10 screws use 8 mm. If unsure, measure the socket opening with a caliper or refer to the fastener manufacturer's specification sheet.

Each size is available individually — you are not required to purchase all eight sizes. Simply select the specific size you need from the Size option, then choose your preferred pack quantity (1, 3, 5, or 10 pieces). This lets you stock up on the sizes you use most without paying for sizes you don't need.

"Long reach" refers to the extended shaft length between the T-bar handle and the tip. This extra length allows the tool to clear surrounding components — such as flanges, housings, or adjacent parts — and reach fasteners that are recessed deep inside an assembly. It is particularly useful in machinery maintenance, automotive work, and equipment assembly where standard-length hex keys cannot access the fastener without obstruction.
