A 2-position switch (ON-ON) toggles between two circuits — ideal for simple A/B switching. A 3-position switch (ON-OFF-ON) adds a center-off state, which is useful when you need to cut power entirely between two circuits. Choose 3-position if your application requires a neutral/off state in the middle of the throw range.

SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw, 3 pins) switches one circuit between two outputs. DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw, 6 pins) simultaneously switches two independent circuits. Use DPDT when you need to control two separate signal or power lines at the same time — for example, reversing a DC motor or switching stereo audio channels.

These switches are rated at 2A @ 250VAC and 5A @ 120VAC. For DC applications, the safe operating current is generally lower — typically derate by 20–30% and verify against your specific load requirements. Do not exceed the rated values to avoid contact damage or failure.

These are standard mini toggle switches without an IP-rated weatherproof seal. For outdoor or high-humidity applications, we recommend mounting them inside a sealed enclosure or using a rubber boot cover (sold separately) to protect the actuator from moisture and contaminants.

Mini toggle switches in this class typically require a panel cutout of approximately 6mm (15/64") in diameter. A nut and lock washer are generally included for secure panel mounting. Measure your panel thickness and confirm the bushing thread length is sufficient before drilling.

These are latching (maintained) toggle switches — they stay in the position you set them until physically moved again. They are not momentary/spring-return. If you need a momentary action toggle, please contact us before ordering to confirm availability of that configuration.

On a 3-pin SPDT switch, the center pin is the common (COM), and the two outer pins are the output terminals (throw 1 and throw 2). Connect your power or signal source to COM, and your two destination circuits to the outer pins. Toggling the lever connects COM to one output at a time. For the 6-pin DPDT models, this pattern repeats for the second pole.

Common uses include DIY electronics control panels, automotive auxiliary circuits (lights, fans, accessories), audio equipment signal routing, model railroad layout control, robotics direction switching, and industrial control enclosures. The compact form factor makes them well-suited for space-constrained builds where full-size switches won't fit.
