Match the hose OD (outer diameter) to the fitting size — e.g., a 6mm fitting accepts 6mm OD tubing. Then match the thread size to your port: 1/8" for small ports on compact valves, 1/4" for standard air lines, 3/8" or 1/2" for higher-flow applications, and 3/4" for large-bore systems. When in doubt, measure your existing port with a thread gauge or check your equipment's manual. For metric ports, the M5 variant is common on small pneumatic cylinders.

Pneumatic push-in fittings of this type are generally rated for working pressures up to approximately 150 PSI (10 bar), though this can vary by hose size and body material. Smaller fittings (4mm–6mm) may have lower pressure ratings than larger sizes. Always verify the rated pressure for your specific variant before use in high-pressure or safety-critical systems.

These fittings are typically constructed from nickel-plated brass or engineering-grade polymer, both of which offer good resistance to moisture and mild corrosion in workshop environments. Available thread options include BSP (British Standard Pipe), NPT (National Pipe Taper), and metric M5. BSP and NPT threads of the same nominal size (e.g., 1/4") are not interchangeable — they have different thread angles and pitch. Check your equipment's thread standard before ordering. These push-in connectors are primarily designed for pneumatic (compressed air) applications. They are generally compatible with water and light, non-aggressive oils at low pressure in many cases, but suitability depends on the body material and internal seal compound of the specific variant. For fluid media other than air, contact us to confirm compatibility before ordering.

No tools are needed to insert tubing — simply push the hose straight into the fitting until it seats and the collet grips. To release, press the collet ring inward toward the fitting body while simultaneously pulling the tube out. A wrench is only needed to thread the fitting body into the equipment port during initial installation. This makes reconfiguring air lines fast and easy without cutting hose.

These fittings are designed for semi-rigid tubing: polyurethane (PU), nylon/polyamide (PA), and polyethylene (PE) with the matching outer diameter. The collet mechanism requires the tube wall to be firm enough to resist the collet teeth. Soft silicone hose, braided reinforced hose, or corrugated tubing are generally not suitable for push-in collet fittings and may result in leaks or pull-out under pressure.

For a leak-free push-in connection: (1) ensure the tube end is cut cleanly and squarely — a diagonal cut will prevent proper seating; (2) push the tube in firmly until it bottoms out; (3) apply PTFE tape to the male thread before installation. After assembly, test at low pressure first and check for leaks with soapy water before full-pressure operation.
