PVC Pipe Fittings Tee, Coupling & Adapter — Solvent Weld Blue, 20–110mm

When a plumbing run needs a reliable branch point, a straight join, or a reducer transition, a loose or mismatched fitting is the last thing a DIYer or tradesperson wants to discover mid-job. These blue PVC solvent weld fittings are sized for the most common domestic and light-commercial pipe diameters, giving homeowners, irrigation installers, and maintenance contractors a single source for tee connectors, straight couplings, and adapter pieces that go together cleanly and stay that way.

Each fitting is moulded from rigid uPVC (unplasticised polyvinyl chloride) and finished in a distinctive blue colour that aids identification in cold-water and potable-water systems. Inner diameters span 20 mm (¾ in) through 110 mm (4⅓ in), covering the full range from garden-tap supply lines up to main drain stacks. Wall thickness and socket depth conform to standard solvent-weld dimensions, ensuring compatibility with metric uPVC pipe sold to BS/EN 1452 and equivalent schedules.

Typical applications include garden and agricultural drip-irrigation networks where a tee splits a supply line to multiple zones, cold-water domestic plumbing where a coupling repairs or extends an existing run, and rainwater-harvesting downpipe systems where an adapter steps down from a 110 mm stack to a smaller storage inlet. The blue colour also makes these fittings a practical choice for colour-coded utility identification in commercial plant rooms.

🔗 Compatibility: Designed for metric uPVC pressure pipe conforming to BS EN 1452 / ISO 1452. Suitable for cold-water supply, irrigation, and non-pressure drainage. Not rated for hot water or compressed air.

✅ Key Features of These PVC Solvent Weld Pipe Fittings

🔵 Blue uPVC Construction

Moulded from rigid, unplasticised PVC for dimensional stability and resistance to chlorinated water, mild acids, and alkalis encountered in domestic plumbing and irrigation.

📐 Nine Size Options — 20 mm to 110 mm

Inner diameters from 20 mm (¾ in) to 110 mm (4⅓ in) cover garden supply lines, domestic cold-water runs, and full-bore drain stacks without needing a separate supplier.

🔩 Solvent Weld Socket Design

Deep, parallel sockets accept standard uPVC solvent cement for a chemically fused, leak-free joint that reaches full strength within 24 hours and does not rely on mechanical compression.

🌿 Suitable for Potable Cold Water

Material formulation is appropriate for cold drinking-water contact in accordance with common regulatory standards — confirm local approval requirements before installation in potable systems.

📦 Flexible Pack Quantities

Available in 1, 2, 5, or 10-piece packs so you can order a single replacement piece or stock up for a larger irrigation or plumbing project without overspending.

⚖️ Lightweight for Easy Handling

uPVC density keeps individual fittings light — even the 110 mm tee is manageable single-handed — reducing fatigue during overhead or confined-space installation work.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Which size fitting do I need for my pipe?

Select the fitting whose inner diameter matches the outer diameter of your uPVC pipe. Standard metric uPVC pipe is sold by outer diameter, so a pipe labelled "20 mm" has an outer diameter of 20 mm and fits the 20 mm socket on these fittings. If you are unsure, measure the outside of your existing pipe with calipers and choose the matching size from the variant selector above.

Can I use these fittings for hot water or underfloor heating?

No. These fittings are manufactured from rigid uPVC, which is rated for cold-water service only — typically up to around 60 °C under reduced pressure. For hot-water supply, underfloor heating, or any system that regularly exceeds 60 °C, you should use CPVC, PP-R, or copper fittings rated for the required temperature and pressure.

Are these fittings resistant to corrosion and chemicals?

uPVC offers strong resistance to chlorinated tap water, mild acids, alkalis, and many common fertiliser solutions used in irrigation. It does not rust or corrode in the way that metal fittings can. However, uPVC is not resistant to aromatic solvents, ketones, or concentrated oxidising acids — avoid contact with these substances and with solvent-based adhesives other than those specifically formulated for uPVC.

Do I need a special adhesive, and is it included?

These are solvent weld fittings, which means they require a uPVC solvent cement (also called solvent weld adhesive or PVC glue) to form a permanent joint. Solvent cement is not included with the fittings. Use a cement specifically labelled for uPVC pressure pipe; apply a thin, even coat to both the pipe end and the socket interior, push firmly together with a slight twist, and hold for 30 seconds. Allow at least 24 hours before pressurising the joint.

Are these fittings compatible with imperial or CPVC pipe?

These fittings are dimensioned for metric uPVC pipe conforming to BS EN 1452 / ISO 1452. Imperial-sized pipe (common in older UK installations and some US schedules) and CPVC pipe have different outer diameters and wall thicknesses, so the socket fit may be incorrect. If you are working with imperial or CPVC pipe, please contact us to confirm compatibility before ordering.

How do I choose between a tee, coupling, and adapter?

A tee connector creates a branch at 90° from a straight run — use it when you need to split a supply line or add a new outlet. A straight coupling joins two pipes of the same diameter end-to-end — ideal for extending a run or repairing a damaged section. An adapter transitions between two different diameters or between a plain pipe end and a threaded connection. Select the fitting type that matches your installation requirement from the variant options above.

Can I use these fittings underground or in buried installations?

uPVC is widely used in buried water-supply and drainage applications because it resists soil moisture and most ground chemicals. For buried pressure-pipe installations, ensure the trench is bedded with fine granular material to avoid point loading on the fittings, and confirm that the pressure rating of the selected size meets your system requirements. For non-pressure drainage underground, these fittings are generally suitable when installed per standard practice.
