For high-pressure or pressurized water supply lines, these fittings are not intended — they are designed for gravity-drain (DWV) use only.

PVC does not rust or corrode. It is resistant to the dilute acids, alkalis, and detergents commonly found in household wastewater. It is not recommended for continuous exposure to concentrated solvents or temperatures consistently above approximately 60 °C (140 °F). For standard residential drain conditions, PVC provides reliable, long-term performance.

These fittings are manufactured from PVC. Connecting PVC fittings to ABS pipe requires a transition cement specifically formulated for PVC-to-ABS joints — standard PVC cement alone is not sufficient. Check your local plumbing code, as some jurisdictions have specific requirements for PVC/ABS transitions. When in doubt, use all-PVC or all-ABS components throughout a single drain run.

If you are replacing or extending a single drain section, 1 pcs is typically sufficient. The 2 pcs option offers a better per-unit value and is ideal for projects involving multiple drain runs, symmetrical installations (e.g., a double-sink vanity), or when you want a spare on hand for future repairs.

No special tools are required for length adjustment — the inner sleeve slides manually. For a permanent, leak-resistant connection, you will need PVC primer and cement (or a code-approved rubber compression seal, depending on your local requirements). A pipe cutter or hacksaw may be needed to trim adjacent pipe sections to the correct length before fitting.
