Yes. A2 stainless steel (304-equivalent) offers good resistance to atmospheric corrosion, rain, and humidity, making it suitable for most outdoor environments. It is not recommended for continuous immersion in chloride-rich environments such as seawater or swimming pool surrounds — for those applications, A4 (316-grade) stainless is preferred.

Yes. A2 stainless steel is weldable using MIG or TIG processes with appropriate filler wire (e.g., ER308L). It can also be drilled using HSS or cobalt drill bits with cutting fluid to manage work-hardening. Avoid high-speed dry drilling, which can cause the material to harden rapidly and reduce tool life.

These are unthreaded flat discs, so they do not thread onto fasteners. They are used as backing plates, washers, or cover caps placed against a surface. The mill-finished surface is smooth and relatively non-porous. For paint or powder-coat adhesion, light abrasion with 120–180 grit sandpaper followed by a stainless-compatible primer is recommended. Solvent degreasing before any coating is essential to remove any handling oils.
