Square sizes (e.g. 100×100, 200×200) suit applications where equal coverage in both directions is needed — base plates, decorative tiles, or symmetrical patches. Rectangular sizes (e.g. 200×100, 400×300) are better for elongated openings, shelf brackets, or joining plates where one dimension is significantly longer. If your project falls between two sizes, always size up — it is easier to trim than to extend.

The polished surface is easier to wipe down than a brushed or mill finish because it has lower surface roughness, giving bacteria and grime fewer places to adhere.
