The TC profile features two sealing lips. The primary lip faces inward and retains lubricant (oil or grease) inside the housing. TC rotary shaft seals are typically designed for low-to-moderate pressure rotary applications — generally up to approximately 0.3 bar (≈4.4 psi) of dynamic pressure. The rubber sealing lip is generally resistant to common oils, greases, and moderate moisture exposure. Clean the housing bore and shaft thoroughly. Lightly coat the seal lip with the fluid it will retain (e.g., engine oil or gear oil). Press the seal squarely into the bore using a seal driver or a flat plate — never strike the seal face directly with a hammer. The metal case should sit flush with or slightly below the housing surface. Take care not to nick or roll the lip over shaft keyways, splines, or sharp edges during installation, as lip damage will cause immediate leakage.
