H62 brass offers moderate tensile strength suitable for light-to-medium mechanical applications such as spacers, shims, and non-structural brackets. Thicker pieces (0.5 mm and above) are best cut with a hacksaw, jigsaw with a metal blade, or CNC router. Drilling is straightforward with standard HSS drill bits. Laser engravers can mark the surface effectively on thinner sheets.
Yes. H62 brass accepts soft solder (tin-lead or lead-free) with a mild flux, and silver brazing alloys with an appropriate flux. Clean the surface with fine abrasive paper or a degreaser before soldering to ensure a strong joint. Avoid overheating, as prolonged high heat can cause zinc fuming and weaken the joint.
