Assembly is very straightforward. All parts are pre-cut with pre-drilled holes. You'll need a Phillips screwdriver (not included). The planter and trellis panels bolt together easily. Most people complete assembly in 20–30 minutes with two people, but one person can manage by following the manual step by step.

The planter is made from solid fir wood with a waterproof carbonized paint finish. This provides excellent protection against rain, humidity, and UV exposure. For maximum longevity, we recommend applying an outdoor wood sealant or stain every 1-2 years, especially in wet climates. The self-draining bottom also prevents standing water.

The two lattice trellises are perfect for lightweight to medium climbers like ivy, clematis, jasmine, morning glory, sweet pea, and small climbing roses. You can also grow vining vegetables like peas or pole beans. The 57" height provides plenty of vertical space for most climbers.

The planter has a hollow bottom with openings that allow excess water to drain out freely. This prevents waterlogging and provides oxygen to roots. For outdoor use on soil or grass, no tray is needed. For patios or decks, we recommend placing a shallow tray or saucer underneath to catch drainage (not included).

Yes — the compact corner design works beautifully indoors near a sunny window or in a sunroom. The trellises can even hold keyrings, string lights, or small decor items. However, if using indoors, place a waterproof tray or liner under the planter to catch drainage water, and ensure adequate light for your plants.

The planter holds up to 8 gallons (30 liters) of soil — roughly 0.8 cubic feet. When filled with moist potting mix, it weighs about 20-30 lbs plus plants. The 77 lb weight capacity is more than adequate for normal use. We recommend using a lightweight potting mix designed for containers.
