Materials List
- Wood pieces: 150 × 89 mm (1 pc), 95 × 89 mm (1 pc), approx. 20 mm thick
- Ruler & pencil (for marking)
- Fine-tooth hand saw
- Small carving knife or chisel (for refining)
- Sandpaper
- Vise (optional, but highly recommended)

Step by Step
Step 1: Measure and Mark
Start with your two wood pieces. Use a ruler and pen to precisely mark the joint lines. Lightly shade the waste areas so you don’t accidentally cut the wrong side.
Step 2: Cut out the Slots
Secure the wood firmly (in a vise, if you have one). Take your fine hand saw to carefully cut along your marked lines.
Step 3: Carve and Clean
The saw gets most of the work done. Then use a carving knife or chisel to remove excess wood and square off the corners. Then sand all edges until smooth.
Step 4: Assemble
Slide the two pieces together. They should interlock perfectly. Press firmly to ensure a snug fit.
In just a few simple steps, you've turned two raw pieces of wood into a custom, minimalist phone stand. Enjoy hands-free scrolling or video calls, and take pride in knowing you made it yourself. Happy crafting!
