Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1: Prepare the Base and Lever
First, prepare a piece of angle iron for the base and a flat iron bar for the lever. Secure the angle iron and drill two holes into one side. Drill two matching holes at the end of the flat bar.
Step 2: Assembly
Connect the flat bar to the angle iron using a bolt. This bolt acts as the main pivot for the bender. Place two small bearings onto the bolt and secure them with a nut; the wire will bend around these bearings to form its curve.
Step 3: Roller Setup
Insert a bolt into the second hole of the angle iron base. Add three small bearings and lock them tightly with a nut. This acts as a fixed anchor to hold one end of the wire in place, preventing it from sliding during the bend.
Step 4: Calibration
In the remaining hole on the lever (flat bar), insert a bolt and add a stack of washers. Secure it with a nut. This is the moving axis that will travel in a circle around the center pivot, pushing the wire to create the bend.
How to Use
Placement
Slide your wire or metal rod between the center bearing and the fixed limit axis.
Bending
Grip the end of the lever and rotate it. The active axis will push the wire around the center pivot, using leverage to bend the metal easily.
