Awesome

These were perfect. I have a Bobcat tractor and the old metal inserts stripped out on the plastic head of the motor. I was able to buy these and tap them right back in super tight really easy to install with the included Allen. Wrenches and the variety of sizes was awesome since I didn’t know exactly what size I needed and for the price you can’t beat it highly recommend them

An excellent rivnut

I ordered these rivnuts because I’ve used up my first 40 from another source. I use them in square tubing to attach various items with ¼” bolts. These have the same friendly fit to a ¼-20 bolt as the other ones. These are thinner, weighing 3.5 grams vs 4.5 grams. The yellow zinc plating should help with corrosion resistance. They are both strongly magnetic. The flange is thicker, 0.053” vs 0.028”, making them sit up above the surface a little more. The hole diameter is 9 mm, or 0.354”, but a 23/64”, or 0.359” bit works fine. I set one in a piece of square tubing, which is my typical application. It fit comfortably in 23/64” hole, not snug but not too loose. It took less torque to set than my other ones. It set very nicely in the hole all the way around, as shown above. The flange is a little higher than my other ones, but it’s OK for my applications. Overall, I like these better than the others, and will continue to use them.

Threaded Inserts

Had to attack a table top to a desk that i built and this product was the solution to the question of affixing it.

Don't use 1/2 inch, 7/16th is correct size

These are very high-quality. All steel, nice threads inside and out. Only issue is 1/2 inch is WAY too big. If you use half inch, the threads won’t hold on their own, you’ll need to seat the inserts with epoxy. I tried several different size beds, 7/16 is the best for me. Only problem is forstner bits don’t come in 7/16. So I drilled a 3/8 inch hole with a forstner bit. Then countersunk. Then used a very sharp 7/16 bit. It’s tight so use beeswax or other method to help ease in the insert. Very happy with the end result.

Drill out the RIGHT size hole and these work great

I bought 5/16” 15mm long threaded inserts and 12mm (wrong size) drill bit as recommended in the product description. 2 days later I received my order and realized a 12mm hole is WAY too big. So then I ordered a 10mm drill bit to match the outside barrel diameter of these threaded inserts, and it worked perfect. I drilled out 10mm holes into 3/4” birch plywood to mount a mailbox onto, and attached with 3/4” long 5/16” button head screws. Final result is perfect! Hex size to install these threaded inserts is 8mm, and I used my impact driver and a hex bit I already owned.
