Gaps between a door and its frame—whether from settling, warping, or original installation tolerances—allow drafts, moisture, dust, and noise to pass through. This door silicone seal strip compresses into the gap on contact and rebounds to maintain a consistent seal through years of daily use.

Made from silicone rubber, the strip is 10 mm wide and available in five thickness profiles—10×6 mm, 10×8 mm, 10×10 mm, 10×12 mm, and 10×15 mm—plus an L-type profile for frame-edge applications. Each unit is 1 meter (39") in length. Available in brown, white, and black (black available in 10×6 mm only; L-type in white and brown).

How do I choose between the T-shape and L-type profiles?

Choose the T-shape if your door frame has a pre-cut groove (door stop groove) that the seal can press into—this gives a secure, tool-free fit. Choose the L-type if your frame has no groove and you need to mount the seal along the flat edge of the frame using adhesive.

How do I select the right thickness?

Close your door and measure the gap between the door face and the door stop. Choose a thickness that matches or slightly exceeds that gap so the seal compresses on contact. For gaps under 7 mm, use 6 mm; for 7–9 mm, use 8 mm; for 9–11 mm, use 10 mm; for 11–13 mm, use 12 mm; for gaps over 13 mm, use 15 mm.

Does the T-shape profile require adhesive to stay in place?

No. The T-shape profile is designed to press-fit into a standard door stop groove and is held in place by the groove walls. No adhesive is required for a standard installation. If the groove is slightly wider than the strip, a small amount of contact adhesive can be applied to secure it.

Can this seal be used on exterior doors exposed to rain?

Yes. Silicone rubber is waterproof and resistant to moisture, making it suitable for exterior door frames. It will not absorb water, swell, or degrade from rain exposure the way foam weatherstripping can.

Can I cut the strip to fit a shorter section of frame?

Yes. Cut to any length up to 1 meter using scissors or a utility knife. Cut at a straight 90° angle for a clean end. For a full door perimeter, you will need multiple units—measure each side of the frame separately before cutting.

How long will the silicone seal last before needing replacement?

Silicone rubber maintains its elasticity and sealing properties significantly longer than foam or standard rubber. Under normal indoor and outdoor conditions, expect several years of effective performance. Inspect annually for hardening, cracking, or compression set, and replace if the seal no longer rebounds fully when the door is opened.

The copper was clean and straight

The copper was clean and straight, but the brass wire was all kinky and not in a straight spiral definitely would’ve been nicer to Not have the Brass bent up

Wheelchair caster nut cap was missing

Hospice had given us a wheelchair that the caster nut cap was missing. So I replaced it with the 28mm tube cap. It was of good quality, sturdy and fit perfect. shipping was fast too.
