These fittings are sized to metric uPVC drainage standards (EN 1329 / BS 4514 nominal bores). Imperial-sized PVC pipe (common in older North American installations) uses different outer diameters and may not seat correctly in the solvent-weld socket. Solvent cement is not included. Use a uPVC-rated solvent cement (also called PVC solvent weld adhesive) that is compatible with drainage-grade uPVC. Apply a thin, even coat to both the pipe end and the socket interior, insert the pipe with a slight twist, and hold for 30 seconds. Allow the joint to cure fully before pressure-testing or backfilling.

uPVC drainage fittings are rated for continuous service up to approximately 60 °C (140 °F) and intermittent peaks typical of household waste water (e.g. dishwasher or washing-machine discharge). They are resistant to dilute household drain chemicals and detergents. Concentrated solvents or sustained temperatures above 60 °C may degrade the material over time and are not recommended.

These fittings are designed for above-ground gravity drainage applications such as soil stacks, waste branches, and internal downpipes. For underground or below-slab use, you should verify that the wall thickness and ring-stiffness rating meet your local building code requirements for buried service.
