The chain is fine...but I ordered the wrong size. Nine links of the chain I ordered equals six of the size I wanted. My error...
How can I straighten out the springs? I can't use them coil uo as is.

When a project demands a material that conducts electricity and heat without compromise, finding a reliably sized copper disc blank can be the bottleneck. Hobbyists, electricians, machinists, and fabricators who need repeatable, flat copper rounds — without the waste of cutting from full sheets — will find these T2 copper discs a direct solution.
Each disc is cut from T2 (C11000-equivalent) pure copper, offering ≥99.9% copper content. Diameter options span Φ50mm to Φ300mm (approx. 1.97" to 11.81"), and thickness options run from 0.3mm to 3mm (approx. 0.012" to 0.118"). Packing quantities of 1 or 2 pieces per order are available depending on the selected size.
Typical applications include electrical contact pads and bus bar blanks, thermal interface shims and heat spreader inserts, gaskets and sealing washers in plumbing or pneumatic assemblies, and decorative or craft metalwork such as stamping, etching, and enameling blanks.

Start with the functional footprint your application requires — for example, the bore diameter of a housing, the contact pad area, or the gasket seat diameter. Then select thickness based on the mechanical load or conductivity path length needed. For shim applications, thinner discs (0.3–0.8mm) are typical; for structural blanks or heat spreaders, 1–3mm is more common. If you are unsure, contact us with your application details and we can advise.
T2 copper is a designation for electrolytic tough-pitch (ETP) copper with ≥99.9% copper content, broadly equivalent to C11000 in ASTM standards. It offers near-maximum electrical and thermal conductivity among commercial copper alloys. Unlike brass or bronze, T2 contains no significant alloying elements, making it the preferred choice when conductivity — not strength — is the primary requirement.
Pure copper naturally forms a surface oxide layer (patina) when exposed to air and moisture. This does not affect bulk conductivity significantly but can increase contact resistance at surfaces. For electrical contact applications, clean the surface with a mild acid solution (such as diluted citric acid) or fine abrasive before assembly. For decorative applications, a clear lacquer or wax coating can slow oxidation.
Yes. T2 copper solders and brazes readily. For soft soldering, use a rosin-based or no-clean flux with standard tin-lead or lead-free solder. For silver brazing, use a silver-bearing brazing alloy with an appropriate flux. Ensure the surface is clean and oxide-free before joining for best results.
Yes. T2 copper in the annealed or as-supplied condition is relatively soft (typically 40–65 HB) and machines well with standard HSS or carbide tooling. Use sharp tools, adequate lubrication, and moderate feed rates to avoid work-hardening and built-up edge. Stamping and punching are also feasible for thinner gauges (0.3–1mm) with appropriate tooling clearances.
The packing quantity option lets you choose how many discs you receive per order line. Smaller diameters (Φ50mm–Φ65mm) are available in both 1 PCS and 2 PCS packs; larger diameters (Φ80mm and above) are typically offered in 1 PCS packs due to weight and size. Select the quantity that matches your project needs — ordering 2 PCS is a cost-effective way to have a spare or to test fit before final assembly.
Discs are supplied with a mill finish and may have minor surface oxidation from storage. Before use in electrical or thermal applications, wipe with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils, then lightly abrade with 400–600 grit sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite pad if a bright surface is needed. For soldering, apply flux immediately after cleaning to prevent re-oxidation.
