Step-by-Step Tape Template Method

Step 1: Transfer the Hole Pattern

Apply a strip of grip tape onto the backplate of the door handle, completely covering the screw holes. Rub a pencil firmly over the tape to create a perfect impression of the handle's edges and the 4 screw holes.

Step 2: Peel the Custom Template

Carefully peel the tape off the back of the handle. You now have a flawless, 1:1 scale drilling template. Trim off any excess tape using a utility knife or scissors if necessary.

Step 3: Align and Level

Stick the tape template onto the wooden door where you want the handle. Use a spirit level and a pencil to draw guidelines on the door, ensuring your template sits perfectly straight.

Step 4: Drill and Secure

Drill straight through the 4 marked hole positions on the tape. Once done, peel the tape off, align your handle over the clean holes, and drive home the 4 mounting screws with your power drill.

There you have it! Perfect hardware placement without touching a tape measure. No more living with crooked handles or putting off that quick fix. Grab a roll of tape, find your drill, and upgrade your doors this afternoon! Let's get making!
