Description

🛠️ From leveling a fresh paint job to smoothing drywall compound or refinishing a piece of metal, these 125mm (5‑inch) wet and dry sanding film discs give you the cutting power you need across a 600 to 5000 grit range. Unlike thin paper that tears under pressure, the durable aluminum oxide film stays sharp and resists loading — especially when used wet. The 6‑hole design aligns with standard multi‑hole backing pads to pull dust away, keeping your work surface visible and your abrasive cleaner longer. Available in various colours (shipped randomly), these discs work on automotive paint, wood, plaster, plastic, and even grout or tile adhesive — making them a true all‑rounder for your orbital sander, rotary tool, or hand block.

✨ 5‑Inch 6‑Hole Wet & Dry Sanding Film Pads – Key Benefits

  • 600–5000 grit aluminum oxide abrasive – self‑sharpening, long‑lasting particles deliver fast, consistent cutting on paint, wood, metal, and plastic.
  • 6‑hole vacuum pattern – matches standard multi‑hole backing pads for efficient dust extraction; reduces clogging and airborne dust.
  • Film backing instead of paper – resists tearing, holds its shape when wet, and gives you a more uniform finish on flat and contoured surfaces alike.
  • Wet & dry waterproof design – wet sanding keeps heat down, prevents loading, and extends disc life; dry sanding is fast and aggressive when needed.
  • Versatile across materials – suitable for automotive paint correction, woodworking, metal polishing, plaster, drywall, grout, and construction adhesives.
  • Multiple grit grades in one range – from coarse to very fine, one product covers scuffing, levelling, refining, and final polish preparation.

❓ 5‑Inch 6‑Hole Wet & Dry Sanding Film Pads – Frequently Asked Questions

🔸 Why do these have 6 holes? Will they work if my sander has 5 holes?

The 6‑hole pattern matches standard 6‑hole orbital sander backing pads commonly found on many 5‑inch random orbital sanders. If your pad uses a different pattern (5‑hole, 8‑hole, etc.), the holes may not align perfectly, and dust extraction will be reduced — but the disc will still sand effectively. We recommend checking your backing pad’s hole count before ordering to get the full dust‑collection benefit.

🔸 Is aluminum oxide good for wet sanding, or should I buy silicon carbide instead?

Aluminum oxide is an excellent all‑purpose abrasive that performs very well in both wet and dry sanding. It’s tough and self‑sharpening, so it lasts a long time on wood, metal, plaster, and automotive paint. While silicon carbide is slightly harder, aluminum oxide is more cost‑effective for general bodywork and construction jobs, and on clear coats it produces a very even scratch that’s easy to buff out.

🔸 Can I pick the colour of the discs?

Colours are shipped randomly from the available range (black, white, red, green, blue, orange, purple, grey, brown). The abrasive performance is identical regardless of colour — the grit grade and aluminum oxide grain are what matter. If you receive a mix of colours, simply sort them by the grit marked on the back.

🔸 The title says 600–5000 grit, but which one should I use for drywall compound and mortar?

For heavy material removal like drywall compound, grout, or mortar, you’ll want the coarser end of the range (600–1000 grit). These grits cut quickly without the loading issues you’d get with finer papers. For a smooth wall finish before painting, step up to 1500–2000 grit. Remember that these are film‑backed, so they stand up to the moisture often present in drywall and tile work far better than paper sheets.

🔸 Can I use these for polishing after sanding, or do I need a separate pad?

These are sanding discs, not polishing pads. After finishing your sanding sequence up to 5000 grit, the surface should be highly refined and almost glossy. At that point, you should switch to a foam polishing pad with compound or polish to bring out the final shine. Using these discs correctly will dramatically reduce the amount of polishing compound and time you need.
