Match the fitting's inside diameter to your pipe's outside diameter as labelled by the pipe manufacturer. For most residential drip or sprinkler mainlines, 20 mm (¾ in) or 25 mm (1 in) is sufficient. Step up to 32 mm or 40 mm for higher-flow zone headers, and 50 mm for main supply lines serving multiple zones. When in doubt, size up — a larger fitting with a reducer is easier to manage than a bottleneck.

These connectors are moulded from rigid PVC suitable for low-to-medium pressure applications typical of residential irrigation and cold-water plumbing. Exact pressure ratings vary by size and wall thickness. For mains-pressure potable water supply lines, confirm the fitting's rated working pressure against your local supply pressure before installation, and always use PVC primer and cement for a full-strength bond.

PVC is inherently resistant to rust, scale, and most common garden chemicals and fertilisers. For outdoor use, the fittings perform well in sheltered or buried installations. Prolonged direct UV exposure can cause surface chalking over time; if the fitting will be exposed to sunlight, wrapping with UV-resistant tape or painting with a compatible exterior paint is recommended.

Use a two-step solvent-weld process: apply PVC primer (cleaner) to both the pipe end and the socket interior, then immediately apply PVC solvent cement to both surfaces and push the pipe firmly into the socket with a slight twist. Hold for 30 seconds. Allow the joint to cure for at least 15 minutes before handling and 24 hours before pressurising. Do not use silicone sealant or thread tape — these fittings are not threaded.

All five ports share the same inside diameter and socket depth, making the fitting fully symmetrical. There is no designated inlet or outlet — any port can carry flow in either direction. This gives you maximum flexibility when designing manifolds or junction points where flow direction may change depending on system layout.

For a single repair or prototype, the 1-piece option keeps cost low. If you're building a small irrigation grid with 2–4 branch points, the 2- or 3-piece pack is practical. For full garden or greenhouse installations with multiple zones, the 5- or 10-piece pack reduces per-unit cost and ensures you have spares on hand. Ordering in bulk also avoids project delays if a fitting is damaged during installation.

These fittings are rated for cold and ambient-temperature water service, typically up to around 60 °C (140 °F) at reduced pressure. They are not suitable for continuous hot water supply lines or steam applications. For hot water plumbing, CPVC or copper fittings are the appropriate choice. These PVC connectors are ideal for irrigation, pool/spa cold-water circuits, and cold-water distribution.
