Measure the inner diameter (ID) of your hose — not the outer diameter. The fitting size listed (e.g., 10 mm) refers to the barb diameter, which should match your hose ID. If your hose ID falls between two sizes, size down for a tighter grip rather than sizing up.

On smaller diameters (6–16 mm) used for low-pressure water or coolant, the barbs alone typically provide a secure seal. For fuel lines, pressurised air, or any fitting 20 mm and above, fitting a worm-drive hose clamp over the hose end is strongly recommended to prevent blow-off under pressure.

Yes. The barbed profile works with silicone, rubber, and reinforced PVC hose. Silicone hose is more flexible and may require a clamp even on smaller sizes because silicone stretches more readily than rubber. Ensure the hose wall thickness is sufficient to grip the barbs — typically 3 mm wall or greater is recommended.

A T Piece has three ports at 90° angles — one inlet and two outlets in a straight-across layout. A Y Piece also has three ports but the branch exits at an angled (Y-shaped) orientation, which reduces turbulence and suits flow-splitting applications. An X Piece has four ports in a cross layout, useful for distributing one supply line to three outlets or joining two separate circuits.

304 stainless steel offers strong resistance to petrol, diesel, ethanol-blended fuels, water-based coolants, and mild acids. It will not rust in typical automotive or outdoor environments. For highly aggressive chemicals such as concentrated brake fluid or strong solvents, verify chemical compatibility before use.

These fittings are suitable for low-pressure air lines — typically workshop distribution runs at pressures up to approximately 30–50 psi when used with correctly sized hose and clamps.
