Then check the housing bore for the Outer Diameter (OD), and measure the housing groove depth for the correct thickness. For example, a 10mm shaft typically pairs with a seal listed as 10 × OD × Thickness. When in doubt, go by the shaft diameter first, then match OD and thickness to your housing. A 10mm ID seal fits a 10mm shaft; a 12mm ID seal fits a 12mm shaft. Use calipers for accurate measurement — even a 0.5mm error can cause leaks or installation difficulty.

NBR stands for Nitrile Butadiene Rubber, and 70 refers to the Shore A hardness rating. A harder compound (70 vs. 60) generally provides better extrusion resistance under pressure.
