Clean the housing bore and shaft thoroughly. Lightly lubricate the seal lip with the fluid being sealed. Press the seal squarely into the housing bore using a seal driver or a flat block — never hammer directly on the seal face. The seal should sit flush or slightly below the housing surface. Avoid nicking or rolling the lip during installation, as this will cause immediate leakage.

TC seals have two lips: a primary sealing lip that retains lubricant and a secondary dust lip that excludes contaminants. SC seals have only a single lip. TC seals are generally preferred for applications where both fluid retention and contamination exclusion are important — such as gearboxes, axles, and pumps.
