While no metal is 100% immune to rust forever, this double-layer protection significantly outperforms standard painted steel or bare iron, making it ideal for humid climates and irrigated garden beds.
The trellis is designed to be freestanding. The base legs (approx. 10-12 inches depending on assembly) can be pushed firmly into soft soil or lawn. For very windy areas or loose mulch, we recommend using the included ground stakes or anchoring with a small garden stone at the base. Cement is not required for typical residential flower beds.

The crossbar spacing is approximately 6-8 inches, which is ideal for most climbers.
