No – it's a 4‑stroke engine, so you simply pour straight unleaded gasoline into the fuel tank. Engine oil is added separately to the crankcase (like a car). This eliminates messy mixing and reduces smoke.
The tiller has an adjustable skid assembly at the front. By raising or lowering the skid, you can set the working depth from 0 to 3.9 inches. Simply loosen the wing nuts, move the skid to the desired position, and retighten.
The 31cc engine and steel tines are ideal for established garden beds and moderately firm soil. For very hard or rocky ground, we suggest moistening the soil a day before and making multiple shallow passes. Avoid large rocks to prevent tire damage.
Basic 4‑stroke care: check engine oil before each use, change oil after the first 5 hours and then every 25 hours, clean air filter regularly, and keep tines free of debris. The manual provides a complete maintenance schedule.
Assembly is straightforward – typically attaching the handle and tines. All necessary hardware and tools are included, along with an easy‑to‑follow manual. Most customers complete assembly in 15–20 minutes.
