Yes. The dual wall construction — polyolefin outer layer plus hot-melt adhesive inner liner — creates a waterproof seal when properly shrunk. This makes it well-suited for marine wiring, outdoor electrical connections, underground splice protection, and other moisture-exposed environments. The adhesive liner flows into gaps and bonds to the cable jacket, blocking water ingress at the entry points.

When fully shrunk and the adhesive is properly activated, the tubing generally provides a mechanically secure bond that resists vibration-induced loosening. This is why dual wall adhesive heat shrink is commonly specified for automotive wiring harness repairs and marine applications where constant movement and vibration are present. The adhesive layer also helps prevent the tubing from sliding along the cable over time.

A heat gun is strongly recommended. Set it to approximately 120–150°C (248–302°F) and move it evenly along the tubing from one end to the other to avoid hot spots. Avoid using open flames (lighters, torches) as they can scorch or burn through the outer wall before the adhesive has time to activate evenly. For larger diameters (φ16mm and φ20mm), a heat gun with a concentrator nozzle helps direct heat more precisely.
