The chain is fine...but I ordered the wrong size. Nine links of the chain I ordered equals six of the size I wanted. My error...
How can I straighten out the springs? I can't use them coil uo as is.

Get through metal roofing, steel studs, and sheet metal fast with this 400-piece hex washer head self-drilling screw assortment from GooBetter. Each screw features a hardened drill-bit tip that bores its own pilot hole and taps tight threads in one shot — no separate drill bit, no pre-drilling required through thin gauge steel and wood. The wide hex washer head delivers a generous bearing surface to prevent pull-through and lets you apply high torque with a standard socket, so you can drive them hard without cam-out. Manufactured from 410 stainless steel, these screws offer higher hardness and strength than standard 304, with solid atmospheric corrosion resistance for indoor, outdoor, and mild industrial environments. The kit includes all three critical Imperial diameters — #8, #10, and #12 — in the most-used lengths from 1/2″ to 2″, packed in a sturdy compartmented storage box so you can grab the exact size without digging through loose hardware.
| Size | Diameter (Approx.) | Length | Head Style | Drive | Material & Finish | Qty |

| #8 × 1/2″ | #8 (~4.2 mm) | 1/2″ | Hex Washer Head | External Hex Socket | 410 Stainless Steel, Natural | 80 |
| #8 × 3/4″ | #8 (~4.2 mm) | 3/4″ | Hex Washer Head | External Hex Socket | 410 Stainless Steel, Natural | 80 |
| #8 × 1″ | #8 (~4.2 mm) | 1″ | Hex Washer Head | External Hex Socket | 410 Stainless Steel, Natural | 60 |
| #10 × 1/2″ | #10 (~4.8 mm) | 1/2″ | Hex Washer Head | External Hex Socket | 410 Stainless Steel, Natural | 60 |
| #10 × 3/4″ | #10 (~4.8 mm) | 3/4″ | Hex Washer Head | External Hex Socket | 410 Stainless Steel, Natural | 40 |
| #10 × 1″ | #10 (~4.8 mm) | 1″ | Hex Washer Head | External Hex Socket | 410 Stainless Steel, Natural | 30 |

Total: 400 pieces. All screws are supplied in a compartmented storage box. Imperial sizing: lengths measured from under the head.
No. The self-drilling tip will penetrate sheet metal up to about 2 mm thick and wood composites without a pilot hole. For thicker materials, a small pilot hole can assist, but in standard roofing, siding, and framing applications, these are true one-step fasteners.
410 stainless is harder and offers higher strength than 304. It provides good atmospheric corrosion resistance for indoor and mild outdoor use. It is also magnetic. For constant saltwater or harsh chemical exposure, 304 or 316 would be preferable, but for roofing, framing, automotive, and general construction, 410 holds up very well.
Most #8 and #10 Tek screws use a 5/16″ (8 mm) hex socket. #12 screws may use 5/16″ or 3/8″ depending on the exact head size. A magnetic nut driver bit in both sizes will cover the entire kit.
Yes. The self-drilling tip punches through the metal layer, and the thread bites firmly into the wood substrate beneath. They are widely used for fastening metal roofing to timber purlins and for mixed-material structural connections.
