Quality of the inserts is good, they all look well machined and clean. The dimensions of the ones I have checked have been spot on to what they are supposed to be. The bolts thread good into the inserts. The storage box is very decent, the latches are easy to open and close and the dividers are molded into the box, so you can keep all the inserts properly organized and not mixed up.

Got this to put small screw features in 3d prints and they're working great! Easily inserted after heating (though I need to tune my models), hold great, threads are clean and smooth. Appreciate that they sent the kit in a plastic bag on the off chance the container breaks in shipping. That said, case works great at keeping all separate. Good buy.

Reviewed: 500Pcs Brass Knurled Threaded Embedment Nuts M2 M2.5 M3 These are well made with well cut, accurate threads. They install easily and are very secure once cool. The dimensions shown on the sales page are accurate but the diameter of the smooth machined boss on the end is not given nor is it always consistent across different lengths of the same diameter. I like to set the printed hole size so that the boss end of the insert snaps into the printed hole so had to measure. I printed a quick test part in Bambu Basic PLA for each screw size and set them with my usual temperatures. They set fine but with a bit more squeeze-out on both ends than expected. Some detailing of printed hole size and temperatures gave better results. There is no suggested hole size given so some experimenting may be in order. Once set I did a pull test on a few and none budged. Nice. The locking plastic box has a printed map to locate the inserts and tweezers are included to pick them out. All in all at $7.89 this set is a very good value with many common thread sizes and lengths used in 3D printing.

A 3D-Printing enthusiast's best friend when it comes to assembling complex prints. I recently printed parts for a 4-cylinder short block. The inserts greatly simplified the assembly process of the main bearing caps and the rod bearing caps.

I do a lot of 3D printing and from time to time need to assemble parts or attach parts to other things. I either use male/female pins with glue or I tap 1/4"-20 holes for screws and bolts. These inserts however, are more secure, easier to use and allow for easy disassembly if needed. This bundle contains 500 inserts ranging in size from M2 to M5. The product description provides a good chart indicating what sizes and quantities are included. As mentioned, they are easy to use. Simply ensure your design has holes slightly undersized then print. Place an insert on a soldering iron and press it into the hole. The plastic will melt and allow you to embed the insert within the plastic. How much you undersize your hole depends on the insert size and your printer's accuracy. I usually make my holes 0.5 - 0.8 mm less than the insert diameter with a slight taper to the bottom. These inserts utilize a more simple, straight flute design, but they have been sufficient for my projects. This is a great selection at a reasonable price.

A very useful sample kit of various size threaded inserts. These use small fins on the outside - seem to work better than the knurled type I've used before.
There is a good range of sizes (both diameter and depth) and a decent number of pieces per size - plenty for testing prototypes.
The size of the inserts is accurate - size the counterbore on the stated dims of the insert and they set square and tight with a soldering iron.

These work very well and with the price it's a great kit to have on hand. I do a lot of custom 3d printer parts and these work very well.

So far, all of the heat-set nuts in this kit have well cut threads and have had no issues with any of the sizes. The dimensions on these are standard, meaning that any pre-set dimensions for 3D prints are likely to fit these just fine. These appear to be of above-average quality, and in a secure storage case. Upon arrival, most of the heat-set inserts in cases like these are all over the place. All of the variations on these were where they were supposed to be. This is a large variation kit, with good storage, and clean quality.
