Generally, match the bit diameter to your anchor or screw specification. For wall anchors, the bit size typically equals the anchor's outer diameter. For through-holes, match to your bolt or fastener diameter. When in doubt, start smaller and test on scrap material first. Common conversions: 6mm ≈ 15/64″, 8mm ≈ 5/16″, 10mm ≈ 25/64″, 12mm ≈ 15/32″.
These bits are designed for multi-material use including ceramic tile, glass, concrete, brick, masonry, steel, copper, stainless steel, aluminum, iron, wood, and plastic. Always use the appropriate drill speed for each material — slower RPM for hard materials like tile and metal, higher RPM for wood and plastic.
The triangular (3-flat) shank fits standard keyless and keyed drill chucks, as well as most rotary tools. It is not designed for SDS-plus or SDS-max chucks. If your drill uses an SDS system, this set will not be compatible.
These bits are made from alloy steel, which is not stainless. For occasional outdoor use, they will generally perform well. For prolonged exposure to moisture, we recommend wiping the bits dry and applying a light coat of machine oil after use to prevent surface rust. They are not intended for continuous wet or submerged applications.
