❓ Frequently Asked Questions – 90mm Triangle Sandpaper

How do I know if these sanding discs fit my sander?

Check your sander's pad dimensions. These discs are 90mm from tip to tip across the triangle. They fit many popular detail sanders, including models from Black+Decker, Ryobi, Genesis, and others that use a 3.5-inch hook-and-loop triangle pad. If your pad measures 90mm corner to corner, you're good to go!

Can I use these wet or on drywall compound?

These are dry sanding discs. They work exceptionally well on drywall compound, spackle, wood, and painted surfaces without water. Using them wet may clog the abrasive and weaken the hook-and-loop backing. For drywall work, start with 120–180 grit for leveling and switch to finer grits for a seamless finish.

What does the 60 to 1000 grit range mean in this set?

It means you get a progression from very coarse (60 grit) to ultra-fine (1000 grit). Use 60–80 for stripping paint or shaping wood, 100–180 for general smoothing, 240–400 for surface preparation before staining/painting, and 600–1000 for between-coat finish sanding or polishing. The variety saves you from buying multiple packs.

Will the hook-and-loop backing wear out quickly?

With normal use, the backing holds up very well. To maximize life, always attach the disc to a clean sander pad (brush off dust), avoid excessive heat buildup, and peel gently rather than ripping sideways. Replacing the sander's own pad when it gets worn also keeps the velcro connection strong.

Are these sanding discs reusable?

Yes, up to a point. If the abrasive isn't fully loaded or torn, you can remove and reattach them multiple times. A quick cleaning with a rubber sanding belt cleaner or an old sneaker sole can restore cutting power. Once the grit wears smooth, it's time for a fresh disc.
