How do I choose the right thickness for my project?

Is this copper strong enough for electrical bus bar use?

Will this copper resist corrosion outdoors?

Can I laser engrave or etch these plates?

For CO₂ lasers, a marking spray or black paint coating is typically required since bare copper reflects CO₂ wavelengths. Fibre lasers can mark bare copper directly. Order the next size up from your finished dimensions to allow for cutting kerf and edge cleanup. For example, if your finished part is 45 × 45 mm, order the 50 × 50 mm plate. Thinner sheets (≤1 mm) can be cut with tin snips or a sharp hobby knife and straight edge; thicker plates are best cut with an angle grinder, jigsaw with a metal blade, or CNC router.
