Geat screws pull wood together very good. 2x4 or 2x6 or bigger moves easiy if you need to persuade them . Hate using phillips heads. Stars are a game changer.

I chose the 4-inch screws. I used them to attach a 2x4 handrail to 4x4 posts on outdoor deck steps. They were perfect for that job. Using 4-inch screws meant that I had 2 1/2 inches of thread into the 4x4 posts. I also used them to repair the deck in places where 3-inch deck screws had failed. The extra length made it possible to use the same hole and screw it into fresh wood. They have a Torx head, and you will need a T-25 bit to use them (not included). The screws are super stiff. I couldn't get them to bend in the slightest by hand. They have a self-drilling tip to bore out new holes. The black paint is nice too, as it is less noticeable than gold once placed. I'm kind of intrigued by the design of the box. It's quite sturdy and the latch is very secure. Overall, I'm quite happy with these. Update: I used these to secure metal handrails to outdoors steps made of railroad ties. They were perfect for the job. Because the screws are so long, my battery powered drill could not drive them the full length. I had to use a plug in drill. It produced enough torque that even T-25 bit on the big drill was jumping out of the screw head. I kind of ate up my drill bit (but it could have been a cheaper one). So that's a testements to the strength of the screws. 1) they didn't snap. 2) the screw head didn't strip. So take that into consideration. Maybe you pre drill the holes or have extra driver bits on hand.

Sturdy 4" Wood Screws

These 4" wood screws appear to be respectable quality. They use that star screw head which gives you better traction when screwing into wood. I have used a dozen of these so far, none of the heads stripped as I was screwing them in. This set does not come with the drill bit, so make sure you have a few of them before hand. This set comes in a convenient case but my case will not stay closed, it keeps popping open, so I transferred the screws to another container. The screws are performing as expected, I have a large job coming up where I will most likely be using the bulk of them. If I find they are not working as they should I will be back to add to this review. But so far so good.

Thick Heavy Duty Screws!

These are excellent outdoor screws! The description says they are galvanized AND coated which should help them outlast the wood they are holding together. (I can not verify the galvanization however with the coating in the way) My package included 2 x T25 torx bits -one long, and one short. Nice touch! Much cheaper than what you get at the local hardware store, and they even include a plastic case. Thanks!
