304 stainless steel offers solid corrosion resistance in freshwater, humid, and mildly saline environments. In typical outdoor garden irrigation or workshop air-line use, 304 stainless performs reliably over many years without surface rust under normal conditions.

For higher-pressure systems (above approximately 3–5 bar depending on hose type) or installations subject to vibration, adding a worm-drive or ear clamp over the hose at the barb is strongly recommended to prevent blow-off.
