The trick is to use two nuts locked together on the machine-thread end. Tighten them against each other, then use a wrench on the lower nut to drive the wood end into your pre-drilled pilot hole. Once the bolt is fully seated, remove the nuts. Never grip the machine threads directly – you'll damage them.
Galvanized coating offers good protection against moisture and humidity, making them suitable for covered outdoor furniture, sheds, and garden gates. For direct rain, ground contact, or coastal salt air, we recommend upgrading to stainless steel. For most interior furniture and protected outdoor applications, these work great.
