DIN 965 is a German industrial standard that defines the dimensions and tolerances for countersunk flat head screws. These screws conform to that standard for consistent, reliable fit across all compatible hardware.
The required Torx (six-lobe) bit size varies by screw diameter: M2–M2.5 typically use T6–T8, M3–M4 use T10–T15, M5–M6 use T20–T25, and M8–M12 use T30–T40. Always verify with a test fit before final installation.
A2 stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance for light outdoor and marine-adjacent environments. For highly corrosive or fully submerged applications, A4 (316) grade is generally recommended.
