1. How do I measure the length of this thumb screw?
The length is measured from the underside of the aluminium head (where the knurling meets the shaft) to the tip of the stainless steel thread. The head itself is NOT included. For example, an “M3 x 10mm” screw has a 10mm long threaded stud under the head. Select your required stud length from the dropdown.
2. Are the screws fully threaded? What about longer stud lengths?
Yes – all M3 screws in this range are fully threaded from under the head to the tip, giving you maximum grip in tapped holes or when using a nut.
3. Will the anodised aluminium head fade or scratch?
Anodising is a durable electrochemical finish that bonds to the aluminium. It resists scratches and fading far better than paint. Normal hand use will not remove the colour.
4. Will the stainless steel stud rust? Can I use these outdoors?
A2 stainless steel (304) offers excellent corrosion resistance for indoor and light outdoor use. It will not rust under normal conditions. For continuous saltwater or harsh chemical environments, consider A4 (316) stainless – contact us for custom orders.
