Description

M5 M6 M8 Pozi Button Head Screws — A2 Stainless, Cam-Out Resistant

Tired of Phillips drivers slipping and stripping your screw heads mid-tightening? These Pozidriv button head machine screws are engineered for DIYers, fabricators, and tradespeople who need reliable torque transfer without cam-out. The Pozi recess grips your driver bit firmly — even under high load — making it a smarter choice for furniture assembly, machinery guards, automotive trim, and marine hardware.

Available in M5, M6, and M8 diameters with lengths ranging from 8 mm to 80 mm (measured under the head), these screws are fully threaded in A2 (304) stainless steel — naturally corrosion-resistant, non-plated, and built to last in both indoor and outdoor environments. Coarse thread pitches: M5×0.8, M6×1.0, M8×1.25.

Whether you're securing cabinet panels, assembling stainless steel railings, fitting marine deck hardware, or building workshop jigs, these Pozi button head screws deliver a clean, low-profile finish and consistent performance across every size and quantity option.

Compatible with PZ2 Pozidriv driver bits (M5–M8). Requires a matching metric nut (M5, M6, or M8) or a pre-tapped hole — not self-tapping.

✅ Key Features of These Pozi Button Head Machine Screws

  • 🔩 Pozidriv (Pozi) Drive: Extra 45° cross-recesses provide superior torque transfer and dramatically reduce cam-out compared to standard Phillips — your bit stays engaged even under load.
  • 🛡️ A2 (304) Stainless Steel: Excellent corrosion resistance for outdoor, humid, and light marine environments. Resists rust, moisture, and mild acids without plating or coating.
  • 🔘 Low-Profile Button Head: Smooth dome sits close to the surface — won't snag cables or fabric. Delivers a clean, modern look on visible assemblies and furniture.
  • 📐 Fully Threaded Shank: Threads run the entire length below the head (M5×0.8, M6×1.0, M8×1.25 coarse pitch) for maximum grip in thin materials and through-hole applications.
  • 📏 Length Measured Under the Head: No guesswork — an M6×20 mm screw has exactly 20 mm of threaded shank below the flat bearing surface of the button head.
  • 🔢 Flexible Quantity Options: Available in 1, 4, 10, 20, 50, and 100-piece packs — order exactly what your project needs, from single replacements to bulk workshop stock.

🎯 Who Is This For?

🪑 Furniture Makers & Cabinet Builders

The button head's low profile and clean dome finish make it ideal for visible fastening points on furniture, shelving, and cabinetry where aesthetics matter.

⚙️ Machinery & Workshop Fabricators

Secure guards, panels, and jigs on machinery and workbenches. The Pozi drive handles high-torque applications without slipping or damaging the recess.

Marine & Outdoor DIYers

A2 stainless resists rust and corrosion in rain, humidity, and coastal spray — perfect for garden furniture, deck fittings, railings, and outdoor structures.

🚗 Automotive & Trim Installers

The smooth button head won't catch on trim panels or upholstery. Use M5 and M6 sizes for interior panels, brackets, and light structural fastening.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between Pozidriv and Phillips — and what driver bit do I need?

Pozidriv has additional smaller cross-recesses at 45° angles and a blunter tip than Phillips. A Phillips driver will fit loosely and will cam-out or damage the recess. For M5, M6, and M8 button head screws, use a PZ2 Pozidriv driver bit. The correct bit gives you significantly better torque without slipping.

Cam out. Are these screws fully threaded, and how is the length measured?

Yes — fully threaded from just under the head to the tip. Length is measured from the underside of the button head (the flat bearing surface) to the tip, not including the head itself. For example, an M6×20mm screw has exactly 20 mm of threaded shank below the head.

M6×20 mm Will A2 stainless steel rust in outdoor or coastal environments?

A2 (304) stainless is highly resistant to moisture, rain, and humidity — suitable for most outdoor applications including garden furniture, railings, and general DIY. For direct saltwater immersion or heavy marine exposure, A4 (316) stainless is recommended. For typical coastal and outdoor use, A2 performs well for years without rusting.

Do these screws require a nut, or are they self-tapping?

These are machine screws — they require a matching metric nut (M5, M6, or M8) or a pre-tapped hole. They are not self-tapping. For best corrosion resistance, pair them with A2 stainless steel nuts and washers.

What lengths are available for each diameter?

Lengths vary by diameter. Typical ranges: M5 (8–60 mm), M6 (8–60 mm), M8 (10–80 mm). All lengths are measured under the head. Select your preferred size and quantity from the variant dropdowns above.

Are A2 stainless screws magnetic?

A2 stainless is generally non-magnetic in its annealed state. However, cold-forming processes like thread rolling can induce slight magnetism. A light magnetic response is normal and does not affect corrosion resistance or performance.

Can I use these with a standard Phillips screwdriver in a pinch?

Technically a Phillips driver will engage, but it will cam-out easily and can damage the Pozi recess — especially at higher torque. We strongly recommend using a PZ2 Pozidriv bit for reliable installation and to avoid stripping the head.

Cam out, what quantity options are available?

Each size is available in 1, 4, 10, 20, 50, and 100-piece packs. Select your preferred quantity from the "Quantitys" dropdown on the product page.
