1. How do I measure the length of a pan head screw?
For pan head screws (DIN 7985), length is measured from the underside of the head (the flat bearing surface) to the tip. The head itself is NOT included. So an “M6 x 20mm” screw has a 20mm long threaded shaft under the head. All our lengths follow this standard.
2. Are these screws fully threaded?
Yes – all M6 screws in this range (up to 130mm length) are fully threaded from under the head to the tip. This gives you maximum grip in both blind holes and through‑nut applications.
3. What’s the difference between Pozidriv and Phillips? Which driver should I use?
Pozidriv (Pozi) has additional small ribs between the cross arms, providing better bit engagement and reduced cam‑out. Use a Pozidriv bit (marked PZ) for best results – a PZ2 is standard for M6. A Phillips bit will also fit but may slip more easily.
4. Why does 304 stainless steel sometimes stick to a magnet?
304 stainless is normally non‑magnetic, but cold working (like thread rolling) can transform some austenite into martensite, which is magnetic. This is normal and does not affect corrosion resistance. Genuine 304 can be identified by chemical analysis or a special test solution – not just a magnet.
5. Can I use these screws with a nut? What size nut fits?
Yes – these are machine screws. Use a standard M6 metric nut (1.0mm pitch). For stainless screws, match with stainless nuts to avoid galvanic corrosion. For carbon steel, use standard steel nuts.
