🔩 M6 Pozidriv Pan Head Machine Screws – DIN 7985, Choose Material & Finish (3–130mm Lengths)
You’re building a marine component, assembling outdoor furniture, or working on a chemical plant – and you need the right material for the environment. These M6 Pozidriv pan head screws come with a choice of 304 stainless, 316 stainless, 201 stainless, or carbon steel, plus your pick of surface finish (untreated, black zinc, or nickel plated). The low‑profile pan head provides a wide bearing surface, perfect for soft materials. The Pozidriv (Pozi) cross recess gives you a tighter bit fit and reduced cam‑out compared to standard Phillips. Made to DIN 7985, fully threaded, with length measured under the head. Available from 3mm up to 130mm. Use them in furniture, marine hardware, electronics, and general assembly – and get exactly the corrosion resistance and appearance you need.
✨ Key Features – M6 Pozidriv Pan Head Screws (DIN 7985)
- 📏
Pozidriv (Pozi) drive – Enhanced cross recess provides better bit engagement, reduces cam‑out, and allows higher torque than standard Phillips.
- 🔘 Pan head design (DIN 7985) – Low profile with a wide bearing surface. No countersinking required – sits neatly on top of the material.
- 🛡️ Multiple material options – Choose 304 stainless (general corrosion resistance), 316 stainless (marine/chemical grade), 201 stainless (budget indoor), or carbon steel (high strength, needs plating).
- 🎨 Surface finish options – Untreated (raw), black zinc plated, or nickel plated. Adds corrosion resistance and aesthetic finish.
- 📏
M6 metric thread (6mm diameter) – Popular medium size for furniture, machinery, and marine hardware.
- 📐 Lengths from 3mm to 130mm (under head) – Fully threaded for maximum grip. Select exactly what you need from the dropdown.
- ⚙️ DIN 7985 standard – German standard ensures consistent head dimensions, thread quality, and drive depth.

📋 Material Selection Guide – Which Stainless Steel or Steel to Choose?
| Material |
Corrosion Resistance |
Typical Applications |
Notes |
| 304 Stainless (A2) |
Good – resists humidity, rain, and most outdoor conditions |
Outdoor furniture, general marine (above water), food equipment, architectural |
Most popular general‑purpose stainless. Slightly magnetic after cold working – normal. |
| 316 Stainless (A4) |
Excellent – contains molybdenum, resists saltwater and chlorides |
Marine hardware, chemical plants, coastal construction, medical devices |
Premium marine grade. Recommended for continuous saltwater exposure. |
| 201 Stainless |
Moderate – lower nickel content, less corrosion resistance than 304 |
Dry indoor applications, budget‑conscious projects |
May rust in humid or wet environments. Not for outdoor use. |
| Carbon steel |
Low (needs plating) |
Indoor machinery, furniture, general assembly (with zinc/nickel plating) |
High strength, but must be plated to resist rust. Choose black zinc or nickel finish. |
❓ Frequently Asked Questions – M6 Pozidriv Pan Head Screws
1. How do I measure the length of a pan head screw?
For pan head screws (DIN 7985), length is measured from the underside of the head (the flat bearing surface) to the tip. The head itself is NOT included. So an “M6 x 20mm” screw has a 20mm long threaded shaft under the head. All our lengths follow this standard.
2. Are these screws fully threaded?
Yes – all M6 screws in this range (up to 130mm length) are fully threaded from under the head to the tip. This gives you maximum grip in both blind holes and through‑nut applications.
3. What’s the difference between Pozidriv and Phillips? Which driver should I use?
Pozidriv (Pozi) has additional small ribs between the cross arms, providing better bit engagement and reduced cam‑out. Use a Pozidriv bit (marked PZ) for best results – a PZ2 is standard for M6. A Phillips bit will also fit but may slip more easily.
4. Why does 304 stainless steel sometimes stick to a magnet?
304 stainless is normally non‑magnetic, but cold working (like thread rolling) can transform some austenite into martensite, which is magnetic. This is normal and does not affect corrosion resistance. Genuine 304 can be identified by chemical analysis or a special test solution – not just a magnet.
5. Can I use these screws with a nut? What size nut fits?
Yes – these are machine screws. Use a standard M6 metric nut (1.0mm pitch). For stainless screws, match with stainless nuts to avoid galvanic corrosion. For carbon steel, use standard steel nuts.
6. Do you offer other diameters like M4, M5, or M8?
This listing is for M6. We carry Pozidriv pan head screws in other diameters (M3, M4, M5, M8, etc.) in our store – please check other listings or contact us for custom orders.
