Description

🔩 Rubber Thread Protector Caps – Φ1.3mm to Φ114mm, Black or Red (Huge Size Range)

From tiny M1.3 screws up to 114mm industrial pipes — this rubber thread cover cap series has you covered. Whether you’re protecting hydraulic fittings, capping valve stems, or keeping dust out of large flange studs during storage, these vinyl rubber caps provide a snug, secure fit. Choose from black or red, both offering excellent wear resistance and corrosion protection. The smooth inner surface slides on easily without damaging threads, and the tough rubber stands up to oil, moisture, and extreme shop conditions. No more lost caps or mismatched sizes.

🧰 Why These Thread Protector Caps Belong in Your Shop

Massive size selection – over 100 inner diameters – From 1.3mm up to 114mm, including half‑millimeter steps in the small range and full mm from 10mm to 114mm. Find exactly what you need for metric hardware.

Two classic colors: black & red – Black for general protection, red for high‑visibility safety marking or identifying critical threads.

High hardness + strong toughness – Sturdy enough to resist tears, yet flexible enough to conform to irregular thread profiles without cracking.

Smooth, shiny surface & non‑slip grip – Uniform force distribution means no weak spots. The caps stay put but come off easily when you need them.

Wear & corrosion resistant – Formulated for harsh environments. Resists hydraulic oil, water, dust, and mild chemicals. Extends the life of your threaded components.

Multi‑purpose application – Perfect for hydraulic pipe joints, transition fittings, oil cylinders, valves, flange studs, threaded rods, bar ends, and even furniture feet or tube openings.

💡 Pro tip: Use red caps to mark “do not remove” or high‑pressure lines. Black caps for general dust protection. Easy visual organization.

💬 Frequently Asked Questions – Rubber Thread Cover Caps (1.3mm – 114mm)

How do I pick the correct inner diameter for my bolt or pipe?
Measure the outer diameter of the thread or tube you want to cover. For a tight grip, choose a cap with ID slightly smaller than your part’s OD – rubber will stretch. For external threads (e.g., a bolt), match the cap ID to the major thread diameter or go 0.2‑0.5mm under. For smooth pipe ends, choose a cap ID equal to or 0.5mm less than the pipe OD. When in doubt, order a sample size first.
Are these caps resistant to oil, hydraulic fluid, and diesel?
Yes. The rubber compound is formulated to resist petroleum‑based oils, hydraulic fluids, and diesel. It also holds up against water, dust, and mild acids. For continuous immersion in aggressive solvents (like acetone or strong acids), we recommend testing first or upgrading to a specialty material like Viton.
Can I use these caps for powder coating or painting thread protection?
Absolutely. These caps are commonly used to mask threads during powder coating, spray painting, or anodizing. The rubber withstands typical oven curing up to ~80°C (176°F). For higher temp baking (above 100°C/212°F), consider silicone caps. For standard painting at room temperature, these work perfectly.
Do you offer other colors besides black and red?
Currently this listing includes only black and red. However, for large volume orders, we can produce other colors (blue, yellow, green, white, clear) on request. Minimum order quantities may apply. Contact customer service to discuss custom color options.
Will these caps fit NPT (tapered) threads or only straight threads?
They are designed primarily for straight (parallel) threads and smooth tubing. For tapered NPT threads, the cap will still cover the first few threads but may not seal completely at the base. If you need a tight seal on NPT fittings, consider our tapered thread protector series (contact us for recommendations).
What’s the temperature rating for these rubber caps?
Typical operating range is -20°C to +80°C (-4°F to 176°F). They soften at higher temperatures and become brittle below -20°C. For extreme cold or high‑heat applications (e.g., engine compartments), we can suggest alternative materials like silicone or high‑temp rubber – just ask.
