Measure the outer diameter of the rod, tube, or screw thread. Choose an end cap with an inner diameter slightly smaller (about 0.5–1mm less) for a snug grip. For example, a 12mm tube works perfectly with a 12mm cap. If your size is between two options, go smaller – the PVC stretches. For M12 bolts, use a 12mm cap.
Yes – the flexible PVC creates friction that keeps the cap in place. For heavy sliding (like dining chairs on tile), choose a cap that's 1mm smaller than the leg diameter. For extra security, add a small drop of silicone adhesive inside – but then it won't be removable. Most people find the friction fit plenty strong for daily use.
