They're not threaded – you simply push them onto any screw, bolt, or rod. For example, a 5mm cap fits an M5 screw nicely. If your screw diameter is 4mm, choose a 4mm cap. The PVC stretches a bit, so you can also go 0.5mm smaller for a tighter grip. Works with both metric and imperial sizes as long as the diameter matches.

Yes – PVC is a good dielectric insulator. These caps are commonly used to cover exposed wire ends, terminal lugs, or grounding studs in control panels and junction boxes. They're not certified for high‑voltage live work (use proper rated boots for that), but for low‑voltage DC, appliance wiring, and general protection, they work great.
For engines, machinery, or anything that shakes, choose a cap size that's 0.5mm to 1mm smaller than your rod or thread outer diameter. The tight fit plus the PVC's grip will resist most vibration. You can also add a drop of silicone adhesive inside the cap for permanent installation – but then they won't be reusable.
These caps are designed to cover just the end tip (up to 50mm deep). If you need to cover a longer exposed thread, either order a longer custom length (contact us) or use multiple caps in a pinch. For most screws and bolts, 15–30mm is plenty to cover the protruding end.
