Measure the circumference of your battery pack or cable bundle, then divide by 2 to get the required flat width. For example, a pack with a 170mm circumference needs approximately an 85mm flat-width tube. Always size up slightly — the tubing shrinks to roughly half its flat width when heat is applied at a 2:1 ratio. If your pack measures 160mm around, the 83mm or 85mm flat-width options are typically the right starting point.

This tubing has a 2:1 shrink ratio, meaning it will shrink to approximately half its original flat (recovered) diameter when heated. In practice, an 85mm flat-width tube will recover to roughly 42–43mm in diameter. This is the standard ratio for general-purpose wire and battery wrapping applications and works well for most RC pack sizes.
